about Badrinath Dham
In
the Garhwal region of Uttar Pradesh, Badrinath Dham situated at the junction of
Rishiganga and Alaknanda at an elevation of 3133 meters above sea level, is a great
religious place of Hindus. The glory of Badrinath has also been given in Skanda
Purana and Mahabharata. It has mountain ranges of both Nar and Naro Narayan,
and here the beautiful peak covered by the snow of Nilakata is visible. It is
said in the Hindu scriptures that no travel is incomplete without the sight of
Badrinath. Badrinath Temple is built on the banks of the Alaknanda river. The
impact of Buddhist architecture is evident from seeing the temple.
In
front of it is a hot water kund, which is also called hot kund. The devotees
take bath in the this kund before appearing in the temple. It is said that
there is a mixture of many precious medicines in this water of the Kunda in the
himalayas, due to which bathing in the holy Kunda treats thousands of diseases
themselves.
This
temple opens in May every year and closes in the third week of November month.
Famous Mana village is 5 kilometers away from Badrinath. This is the last
village of India on the Indo-Tibet border in this area. It is said that here,
in the Vyas cave, the chants of the four Vedas were divided together into four
parts.
Many
Puranas were also written here In addition to the beats, there are many other
places to visit here, such as Phalpaduka (2 Km), Balasantra Tal, Vyas Cave,
Ganesh Cave and Bhimpul (4 Kms) Mantamuri (3 Kms).
